There will be a memorial service at 11 AM Monday July 16, 2012 at First United Methodist Church of Hubbard for Ruth C. Thornhill age 95 of Perry, Ohio; formally of Hubbard who passed away Wednesday July 11, 2012 at her residence in Perry.
Ruth was born November 26, 1916 in Clarksburg, West Virginia a daughter of Wilmer and Mabel Coder Crane.
Ruth was a First Grade Teacher for the Hubbard School System for 23 years retiring in 1977. As a teacher, she was a Jennings Scholar award winner. Ruth was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Hubbard, where she was a Sunday school teacher. She was also member of the Hubbard Fortnightly Club.
Her husband James W. Thornhill Jr. whom she married August 31, 1936 passed away November 3, 2002.
She is survived by her children, James William (Gail) Thornhill III of Avon Lake, OH, Jeanne (James) Fairbanks of Hubbard, OH. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jacob (Teresa) Thornhill, Laura (Tim) McDermott, Ellen (Matt) Huffmyer, Carol (John) Caldwell, George Fairbanks and John Fairbanks and 11 great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband.
There will be calling hours Monday July 16, 2012 10-11AM prior to the service at the First United Methodist Church of Hubbard.

Burial will be at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
